In 2006, the liner did a Northwest Passage cruise using real-time satellite data about sea ice locations. The Bremen cruise ship was successfully featured in the TV show "Killer Wave" (2007-launched). In 2003, MS Bremen discovered a previously uncharted island in Antarctica, which was later named "Bremen Island".
